It's time for a new direction. Meet our team. Read our platform. Remember that your work matters, and together - we're going to prove it.

The people of Minnesota rely on the work we do every day. Our employer understands that too. The services we provide are essential, and nothing functions without the MAPE members who make it happen.

For the past several years, we have talked about strike readiness and made plans because many believe a strike is increasingly necessary—and soon. Yes, there are practical realities we must confront: membership strength, kitchen table issues, public opinion, and government funding concerns. But more than anything else, we need members to trust one another and believe in the power of collective action more than they believe our employer’s messaging.

That is why we built this coalition of leaders from across the state, representing every background, political perspective, and demographic within our union - members from rural, suburban, and metro workplaces across Minnesota. We believe it is time to stand together and demand that our employer recognize the value of our work.

This coalition is not only focused on the next contract cycle or even the next few years. We are focused on building a stronger union for the public servants who come after us. We’re ready to build a better tomorrow, together.

Coalition Leadership

Fighting amongst ourselves only helps the boss. Our members have diverse jobs, backgrounds and perspectives, and a diverse workforce requires diverse tactics.

 

Our approach to the problems we face as a union needs to be the same. We build power in coalition when it makes sense, and use different tactics in different places when the moment calls for it.

Fair Contract for All

MAPE members are steadfast advocates for Minnesotans - and we deserve leaders that reflect our commitment.

 

Our employer must acknowledge the value we provide through robust wages and employment protections.

Health Care That Works

Medical costs are rising too fast for too many. We'll empower, educate, and train members to fight for the health care we deserve.

 

Our dedicated health care negotiators are committed to keeping costs down, building our health care coalition power, and keeping members informed. 

Workplace Safety

Every MAPE member deserves to feel safe at work, but every day our members face unsafe working conditions.

 

Together, we will push our employer to prioritize our well-being - because we keep us safe. 

Work-Life Balance

We are committed to planning for the future by pushing for flexible hours, manageable workloads, overtime protections and remote work options.

 

We aim to stop burnout by focusing on real, lasting, courageous change.

This union belongs to all of us. We are committed to ensuring every member feels a true sense of belonging and every voice is valued.
